🛎 WHAT'S HOT IN HOSPITALITY: Membership Clubs

In the ever-evolving landscape of hospitality, a trend is making waves, reminiscent of the classic country clubs, with a contemporary twist. Prestigious hotels are now embracing the concept of membership clubs, transforming stays into immersive experiences. These clubs are not just about the facilities, they are communities where people gather, share, and thrive, living the lifestyle of the destination they love.

The key to the success of these clubs is their ability to foster community building. The clubs that have mastered this are setting benchmarks in the industry. It's not just about having top notch facilities, though that remains important. The real success is in creating an environment where members can connect, engage, and feel a part of something greater, living the aspirational lifestyle they seek.

However, it's worth noting that not all that glitters is gold in this area. While many clubs are excelling, others struggle to find their footing, primarily due to a lack of that vital element, community engagement. A beautiful location or a luxurious setting alone doesn't guarantee success. It's the spirit of the community that infuses life into these spaces.

At Turk Hospitality Ventures, we understand this balance. In fact, we're currently blending this understanding into the very fabric of an exciting new project in Miami Beach. If you're looking to create or enhance a membership club that truly resonates with your members, feel free to contact us.

With a calendar studded with engaging events, from intimate talks with renowned figures to avant-garde performances, Faena Rose is not just about luxury, it's about enriching the lives of its members through unparalleled experiences and meaningful connections.

The Battery, San Francisco: Nestled in the heart of San Francisco, The Battery offers more than just exclusivity. It's a club where culture, intellect, and luxury meet. Renowned for its chic decor and an atmosphere brimming with artistic fervor, this club offers its members not just a place to stay or dine, but a club where stories are created, and connections are made.

These clubs are more than just destinations, they are the center of the members lifestyle. They embody the essence of what makes a membership club truly exceptional, an unwavering focus on community, connection, and a shared aspirational lifestyle.

🍵 WHAT I'M SIPPING: Art of Tea - Elegance in Every Sip

Steve Schwartz Founder of Art of Tea

In the hospitality world, tea isn't just a beverage, it's an experience. I recently met with Steve Schwartz, the mastermind behind Art of Tea. His company elevates tea service. Art of Tea, based in Los Angeles, isn't just a tea importer and wholesaler. It represents a legacy of handcrafted, organic teas and botanicals, each with its own unique backstory and direct sourcing from growers.

Steve's journey began in 1996 at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico, igniting a mission to share the world's finest teas. Today, Art of Tea is renowned for its collection of organic and specialty teas, brought to life by Steve's global voyages and his recognition as a Master Tea Blender. His award-winning blends and educational efforts at World Tea Conventions showcase his passion for tea and its heritage.

The essence of Art of Tea lies in its relationships with farmers and distributors worldwide, ensuring access to premium organic teas and botanicals. This commitment is reflected in their intensive care program, blending aesthetics, passion, and stringent quality control.

Partnering with Art of Tea elevates a hospitality company beyond mere tea service. It's a partnership, offered through Customized Tea Menus, a variety of Retail Teas, and a comprehensive Hospitality Tea Program. Choosing Art of Tea means offering guests not just a cup of tea, but a journey through a blend of quality, education, and a true tea culture.

WHAT I'M WORKING ON: Tangy Management's New Path in Hospitality

Tangy Management Concept Renderings

The way people travel is changing, especially with younger generations like millennials and Gen Z. Instead of just buying things, they're looking for unique and meaningful travel experiences. They want their trips to be about discovering new places, meeting new people, and creating memories that last a lifetime, not just about staying in fancy places.

Understanding this shift, at Tangy Management we are adding something new. We are doing great in the vacation rental business, several of our properties earned Airbnb’s Guest Favorite designation. We're now stepping into the boutique hotel world. Our goal is to make these hotels more than just a place to sleep. We want to create spaces where every visit is an adventure, a story to tell, a memory to cherish.

We're bringing together our knowledge of luxury hotels and our experience from vacation rentals to shape these unique spaces. By partnering with hotel owners and those who offer one of a kind outdoor experiences, we're looking to build something special. We're not just adding to our list of projects, we're answering the call of today's travelers who crave experiences that are authentic and memorable.

While we're excited about this new direction at Tangy Management, we don't want this to sound like just another advertisement. We genuinely believe in the power of travel to bring joy and understanding, and we're committed to making that happen in new and innovative ways. This journey is about connecting with modern travelers and creating places where every stay becomes a cherished part of their life.

Stay tuned, and let's make travel about more than just where you stay, but how those stays make you feel and the memories they create.

🌳 WHAT I'M INSPIRED BY: Planting Hope with Hotels for Trees

In a world where every step towards sustainability counts, I recently had the opportunity to meet Edwin Schaerlaeckens, the Tree Planting Officer for North America at Hotels for Trees. The conversation left me inspired and deeply moved by the mission of this organization.

Hotels for Trees is pioneering a unique approach in the hospitality industry, one that mixes the comfort of hotel stays with the crucial cause of environmental preservation. Their mission is straightforward yet powerful, for every night a guest stays in a participating hotel and chooses to skip housekeeping services, a tree is planted. This initiative is not just about planting trees, it's about creating a culture of eco-consciousness and sustainable living within the hospitality sector.

The concept is elegantly simple and the impact is big. By opting out of housekeeping, guests contribute directly to reforestation projects, helping to rejuvenate ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and combat the pressing issue of climate change. This initiative beautifully balances luxury and responsibility, offering guests the unique opportunity to be part of a movement that's literally changing the landscape of our planet for the better.
